Happy New Year! An enduring habit of mine: photographing my feet – here’s three favourites from last year.

Doing some French email-writing today – meaning my alt keyboard key is getting a lot of love, and I will most likely dream in French tonight.

The last weeks have been uneventful, as I battled a persistent flu-type virus – highlights of my days included fresh pineapple juice and hot tea. Non-highlights included incessant nose-blowing and feeling germy 24/7.
Also, this delightful exchange between Christian and I:
Me: ‘I can’t really turn my neck.’
Christian: ‘It’s not meningitis.’
Me: ‘How did you know what I was thinking?’
Christian: ‘Because all French people have a f—–g*phobia of meningitis. The minute you get the sniffles, you’re like ‘Is my neck sore?”.
What can I say, the man knows me!
